HOOKED by NICKY GUADAGNI

For ten years Nicky performed her one woman show Hooked in peoples' homes, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and at Theatre Passe Muraille in Toronto winning the Dora Mavor Moore award for best actress. Hooked is seven monologues by Carolyn Smart, creative writing professor at Queens, spoken by seven infamous women of the 20th century. Nicky brings you the two women she has missed the most - Dora Carrington the British painter who hovered at the edge of The Bloomsbury Group and Elizabeth Smart, the Canadian poet who reared her four 'love children' in rural England struggling with poverty, betrayal and alcoholism. A new element will be the addition of photographic slides immersing the audience in these women's time and place and people.
